Millennium Coastal Path

Part of the Celtic Trail, the Llanelli Millennium Coastal Path offers a wonderful mix of coastline and woodland in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside. With a rich history and diverse wildlife, there is something for everyone to see as you ride along on your bike.

Llanelli is located approximately 25 minutes west of Swansea in south Wales. The Discovery Centre is near Llanelli Dock and Sandy Water Park.

Let’s Pedal

Begin your ride at the Llanelli Discovery Centre and wind your way through Sandy Water Park, a birdwatching haven and nature reserve.

Continue your ride along the signposted Millennium Coastal Path through Ashpit Ponds Nature Reserve and Burry Port marina before reaching Pembrey Forest. This sand dune forest is the home of many rare species including butterflies, songbirds and birds of prey. Choose one of the many paths around the path and enjoy the wildlife and tranquility of the forest.

If you wish to extend your ride by 2.8 miles, follow the trail as it curves north towards Kidwelly and visit the castle.
