Great Flat Lode Trail

The Great Flat Lode Trail is a tour of Cornish mining heritage. As you cycle the trail, you will encounter many ruins showing how vital the mining industry once was to the local area.

The trail has mainly gravel tracks with some short and quiet lanes. There are a couple of steep climbs to add to the fun, but whether you cycle or walk up the views of the surrounding countryside are breath-taking. On clear days, you may even see the sea.

Cycling the Great Lode Trail is fun and offers a glimpse into local history.

Cornwall’s Great Flat Lode Trail is located around Camborne and Carnkie, south-west of Redruth.

Let’s Pedal

The Great Flat Lode Trail has a number of access points and junctions, but is well signposted: look out for ‘Great Flat Lode Trail’ or the black chimney icon.

The trail is not flat with many ups and downs, and two steep climbs which are well worth the effort of cycling or walking up for the stunning views.
