Explore the moorland, woodland and estuary found along the Camel Trail, Cornwall.

Running from Padstow to Wenford Bridge via Wadebridge and Bodmin, The former London and South West railway line is a great family cycling route, mostly flat and suitable for everyone to enjoy.

Break the journey into smaller sections or ride the whole route in one go, the choice is yours.


The Camel Trail starts on the north coast of Cornwall and heads south-east. Padstow is approximately 17 miles north-east of the popular holiday destination of Newquay.

Let’s Pedal

The Camel Trail presents a leisurely ride from Padstow to Wadebridge, Bodmin and Wenford Bridge. Ride the trail and discover the beauty of Cornwall.

Start in Padstow at the Town Car Park (PL28 8BL) which is next to the trail. Follow the disused railway line to Wadebridge (PL27 7AU) and on to Bodmin (PL31 2DQ). Extend your ride out to Wenford Bridge.

Well-signposted as both The Camel Trail and NCN  32 (Padstow to Dunmere) and NCN 3 (Dunmere to Bodmin and Bodmin to Wenford Bridge), the route is very easy to follow.
