Chester Railway Path

Cycle from the historic and medieval city of Chester to Connah’s Quay and see some of the best of England and Wales as you cross the border.

Follow the former Dee Marsh to Mickle Trafford railway line from the centre of Chester to the picturesque Connah’s Quay.

Chester was once home to a Roman fort and parts of its medieval wall are still standing. Look out for the Roman amphitheatre and the Victorian-esque first floor shopping arcades.

Chester is on the border with northern Wales. Connah’s Quay is 9 miles west of Chester, in Wales.

Let’s Pedal

The Chester Railway Path begins at Lime Wood Fields (CH2 2LL), follow the signs for NCN 5 heading south until you reach the fork in the path and turn right.
